Welcome from the Primary Coordinator

ASC2184

It is with great enthusiasm that I begin this new course. I am very proud to be able to lead the Primary team and to be able to continue building on foundations that over two decades have become our identity: academic excellence, values, languages and ICT.

Good preparation in Primary Education is decisive in the success that our students will have and our curriculum reflects the importance it deserves. We use the most cutting-edge methodologies to provide solid knowledge, as well as research and reasoning skills that are very useful in your daily life and for your future. Our students work in a motivating environment where all effort is rewarded.

I would like to be able to work together with our families to create an educational community where, yes, academic excellence prevails as well as attitudes of solidarity, camaraderie and cooperation.

International Primary Curriculum (IPC)

The IPC (International Primary Curriculum) has been designed to ensure not only rigorous learning, but also to equip teachers with tools that make all learning exciting, active and meaningful for students.

The International Primary Curriculum has a distinctly global and worldwide focus; it helps children understand the circumstances of where they live and connects this learning with the perspective of people in other countries.

The IPC is used in schools in over 90 countries around the world.

This programme sets out learning objectives in three different areas:

  1. The subjects of the Programme. The learning objectives for each of these subjects are as important goals as those included in the Official Curriculum Design and are highly motivating and innovative for the learner.
  2. Personal Development. The programme helps to foster responsibility and autonomy.
  3. International understanding and openness. They will develop a sense of belonging to their own country and culture, as well as teaching them the value of connection between different countries and cultures, so necessary in today’s world.

Throughout each term, two CPI units are worked on, in the planning, design and monitoring of which the pupils participate actively. This is an interdisciplinary methodology that will help them to broaden their field of interests, proposing new experiences and encouraging them to use different resources.

Each project will have an attractive and motivating Entry Point and Exit Point.

International Primary Curriculum (IPC) curriculum

The Primary Education Project at El Altillo International School is designed with the ambitious aim of ensuring that pupils in the sixth year of Primary School achieve a high level of linguistic competence in English and obtain level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, as well as consolidating the foundations of French language learning.

The importance of trilingualism at the end of this stage is undoubtedly the great strength of this educational project. To this we can add the enriching contribution of Chess, the innovative training in Mathematical Calculus based on the algorithm based on numbers (ABN), together with a complete programme for the development of creativity and public speaking. All this worked in a technological and collaborative environment in which the level of implementation of digital competences reaches its highest goals.

In this context of companionship, motivation and enthusiastic work on the part of pupils and teachers, the school can also boast about its teaching of values, its great commitment to culture in a broad and international sense and its vision of integrated learning.

At El Altillo International School, the combination of a happy learning environment and a solid, international and innovative education shapes the personalities of its pupils, forging their ethical values and their lifelong passion for learning.
