Welcome from the Early Years Coordinator

As Infant Coordinator at El Altillo International School, I can say that after so many school years we continue with the same enthusiasm and joy that our pupils transmit to us.

This combination of enjoying the little ones, of thousands of anecdotes, of seeing the classes and classes grow, together with all the years of experience, gives us the same strength, if not more, to continue working.

Our aim is to contribute to the integral development of our students, supporting them in their process of maturity, autonomy and education in values.

Of course, we count on the unconditional support of our families who, together with our educational community, are the main pillar for all this to be possible.

From here I would like to thank them for the trust they have placed in us for so many years and welcome these new families who are going to join us in this wonderful world of shared education.

Methodology of our trilingual infant school

At El Altillo International School our educational approach during the Infant Years focuses on values, languages and emotional development from an early age. At EYE (Early Years Education), we integrate these fundamental pillars to guarantee comprehensive learning.

From the age of 1 and 2, we prioritise English and French, gradually increasing the focus on both languages up to the age of 5. This allows our students to immerse themselves in a trilingual environment, developing solid language skills. In addition, we encourage emotional growth and empathy to prepare children for a globalised and diverse world.

  • Years 1 & 2 are 95% English + 5% French
  • Years 3 & 4 are 90% English + 10% French
  • Years 5 are trilingual 80% English & French from 3 years old

In our educational project EYE (Early Years Education) we base our teaching on three fundamental pillars: values, languages and emotional development.

Main areas of development

At El Altillo International School we develop the integral growth of our students through three key areas.

In Communication and Language we cultivate language skills through conversations, taking advantage of children’s innate ability to learn several languages.

In Personal, Social and Emotional Development, we prioritise values and emotional education from an early age, creating an environment conducive to learning. It is worth highlighting education in values as a fundamental pillar on which the ideology of our School is based, in the firm conviction that the transmission of these principles must be instilled from the earliest ages. On the other hand, the more positive the emotional contexts, the easier the learning process will be.

In Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy, we offer playful educational experiences in mathematics, chess, ICT and robotics, encouraging critical thinking and creative problem solving. This holistic approach ensures the all-round development of our students.

In addition, we instill changes in environmental issues from an early age by participating in our Ecoschool school program. Through this program, we raise students’ awareness of the importance of energy savings and the need to recycle, as well as the commitment to improve their environmental behavior and strive to achieve a sustainable future.

Development of computer skills

At El Altillo International School, we prioritise the teaching of computer skills from an early age, recognising their importance in today’s world.

We adapt our educational objectives so that students acquire digital skills according to their age, and we also integrate the use of technology in different areas, so that they are responsible in its use.

Pedagogical programmes adapted to the early stages of schooling

At El Altillo International School we design educational programmes specifically adapted to the early stages of development, recognising the importance of these formative years.

Our approaches focus on learning methods that are sensitive to the unique needs of children in these early stages, encouraging exploration, experimentation and guided discovery, with special emphasis on language learning.

Language immersion

Language immersion is a fundamental component of our pedagogy at El Altillo International School. From nursery school onwards, students are immersed in an environment where English and French are integrated organically into the curriculum, allowing for a natural acquisition of both languages, as well as continuous practice with native teachers.

We ensure that students complete their training at our center with at least C1-C2 in English and B2 in French.

Workshops and extracurricular activities

Altillo International School offers sports and cultural activities throughout the school year. Sports options include basketball, pickleball, paddleball, volleyball, skating, rhythmic gymnastics, football and robotics, among others.

We have an Authorised School of Music and Dance, giving individual classes in piano, classical guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, flamenco guitar, flute, violin, bass, drums and musical language from the age of 3.
