FAQs

El Altillo International School provides a complete education from Early Years (age 1) to Baccalaureate, ensuring continuous and comprehensive learning. We implement innovative international methodologies, integrating the Spanish curriculum with global models such as the Early Years International Curriculum (EYIC), the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

El Altillo International School is the only trilingual school in the province. Our students learn English, French and Spanish from an early age. We also promote language immersion and multilingual development through international programmes.

The school is accredited as an International School by the Ministry of Education and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). It is also accredited by the International Curriculum Association (ICA) for Early Years and Primary. Additionally, the school is part of the IB World Schools network and the Eco-Schools network, ensuring a high-quality education with international recognition.

El Altillo International School offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, music, arts, chess, Fab Lab, coding, STEAM and volunteering projects. Students can also take part in international initiatives such as International Learning Opportunities (ILOS).

Our Gifted and Talented Programme is a specialised educational track designed to meet the needs of students with exceptional intellectual potential. In collaboration with Talentum, we have reimagined our curriculum to create an inclusive, challenging and enriching environment. Students benefit from innovative tools and strategies that foster their talents and support holistic development.

We conduct early and rigorous screening for all students using standardised detection tests. This process ensures we identify gifted learners precisely and can intervene immediately to maximise their growth from the outset.

Once a student is identified as gifted and talented, we administer a preferences assessment and hold individual interviews. Based on these insights, we design a bespoke learning plan that may include:

  • Participation in maker projects
  • Activities in our on-campus FabLab
  • Specialised workshops led by expert facilitators

Each term, gifted and talented students collaborate with Talentum on an innovative, cross-disciplinary project. These projects encourage creativity, critical thinking and teamwork by exploring diverse fields of knowledge in a practical, hands-on manner.
